I am hoping that everyone who orders from Footprint Gems jewelry, knows they are getting authentic, handmade, one of a kind pieces worthy of a confident, strong, stylish, spoiled and loved person. The pieces are meant to make yourself or a special someone in your life feel confident, loved, and happy. Pieces meant to make your footprint on style.
Before… I created Footprint Gems, I lacked creativity and sparkle in my life. I needed some joy, sparkle, and stress relief from my stressful job as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
Then, one day… I happened upon a jewelry class and began taking classes and fell in love with the process. It gave me an outlet for stress and allowed me to create using nature as a inspiration . I realized that each person, just like my tiny patients, has a unique footprint on style and I could design pieces that fit uniquely different people or an occasion.
Jewelry can be worn everyday or for special events. It can be a memento of someone or of a special event in your life. I worried that no one would appreciate the handmade quality and uniqueness of my jewelry.
But as my skills improved over time people began to ask about the jewelry I made.
I decided to set out to create unique one-of-a-kind handmade high-end sparkling pieces for the confident, stylish, joyful, uniquely special people who aren’t afraid to express themselves with unique jewelry.
They know they are as unique and sparkling as the jewelry. They will make their footprint on style with these one-of-a-kind handmade pieces. They will spread their unique sparkle in the world.
It turns out, the road was more difficult than I imagined.
I had to learn so many new skills and learn to accept that some people will not like everything that I make. Getting started in a small business at my age took guts and perserverance. I didn’t grow up in the computer era and it has been a challenge but I am making progress.
I took classes to learn computer skills, social media, and business skills, and many jewelry classes to improve my technical skills.
I feared many things along the way but I finally opened the doors and began doing shows. The response was great and people were buying my pieces. Then I had to get the skills to open my on-line store and that was even scarier.
In the middle of all that I retired from my job after 40 years, which was scary because I had worked in the medical field since the age of 15 and wasn’t sure how I would handle it.
But thanks to my jewelry business, I am very happy and love creating and meeting all my new found customers and fellow jewelry lovers. Make your footprint one to remember, unique and sparkly.
